but a militarist of the old school in disguise and

The reporter again asked, "Will Generalissimo
Tseung attempt to attack Wuhan with his army?" Cheung answered, "It is unnecessary for the present, because the Communists, by their present actions, are only
ruining themselves, and will fall of their own accord without anybody attacking them. After all, Communism is not feasible in China. That should be promoted in the present age is the principles of Sun Chung Shan's
"Three Aspects of Democracy".

The reporter asked if it was a fact that the Nanking Government had come to terms with the Fengtien Clique. In reply Cheung said, "This is an entirely ground- less rumour. Though Mukden has also for its object the
attack on the Reds, we have never worked in co-operation. We should continue our Northern Expedition until the Kukdenese militarists are completely exterminated. But if the Fengtien Clique changes its policy, and believes in the principles of the "Three Aspects of Democracy",
we can treat them as our friends and come to terms with
them.
You must know that the Revolutionary Armies are the people's troops, and know no other compulsion than the necessity of promoting the people's welfare. If the people's troops fail to respect the opinions of our people, the people must attack them.
Our nationals have four great enemies with whom
we can never come to terms. Now let me tell you who
they are:
(1) Foreign Imperialists. We mean the foreign govern-
ments in China and individual foreigners in China.
(2) Militarists. i.e. the warlords in the North at the
present time.
